![]() BirdFont freezes every time, and I have to shut it down. ![]() As for FontForge, I receive a message nearly every time saying “Too Complex or Bad: I’m sorry this file is too complex for me to understand (or is erroneous).” All the images I have saved in. svg format have been made in Inkscape and saved there. I’ve tried just about every option when it comes to saving my images in a compatible format there, but no matter what I do, I can’t get the image to import into BirdFont or FontForge successfully. Actually, I have had an svg file import into FontForge twice, but every other time, it has not worked there for some reason. I’m not at all tech savvy, so I would really appreciate clear help on this matter, so please feel free to reposnd with insight and questions! And when it has, the image is altered from how I left it.Ĭould anyone tell me what is wrong here? It must have to do with Inkscape or saving as SVGs, as it fails in the two different programs. Get a sample svg that triggers this problem. > saying “Too Complex or Bad: I’m sorry this file is too complex for me to As for FontForge, I receive a message nearly every time > for me: Every time I try to import an SVG file into FontForge (or BirdFont, > I’m wondering if anyone here might be able to solve the following problem > understand (or is erroneous).” All the images I have saved in. > FontForge twice, but every other time, it has not worked there for some Actually, I have had an svg file import into > no matter what I do, I can’t get the image to import into BirdFont or > option when it comes to saving my images in a compatible format there, but > have been made in Inkscape and saved there. > Could anyone tell me what is wrong here? As for not responding to my GitHub ticket, I’m quite unknowledgeable when it comes to electronic technology, and therefore am not actually sure what this refers to. For the same reason, I am not well versed in how to respond in an email listserv forum, so I have hit “Reply,” and have manually added your personal email address to the send bar, in the hopes that at least one of the copies of this email will get to you. Anyway, I appreciate you replying to my email in the form you did, and I appreciate you suggesting that I should attach one of the SVG files I have created that I am having trouble importing into other programs beside internet ones. I have attached one such file to this reply I am sending you. It is quite possible the issue is due to me not knowing how to create or save the file properly, but I am not sure. And when one SVG I’ve created does happen to manage to open in one of these font programs, only some of the layers created for the image in Inkscape appear, and thus I only see a partial image. However, most of the time, it just doesn’t open at all. If you have any comments and/or questions after viewing the SVG, please let me know, and I will do my best to address them. The image, should it appear properly, may be very small, so zooming in on it quite a bit may be required. They also will probably not be centred in the screen when opened. There should be two brackets/parentheses, with a closing bracket immediately followed by an opening bracket to its right. However, I have not gotten to adjust these images to be this way in FontForge or BirdFont yet, because of the issues I’ve been having opening them with these two programs.Īgain, any insight would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks (and sorry if the problem and its solution should be obvious)! I intend the two to end up being separate characters, and both are to end up being a certain height off the baseline. It would be very helpful to get a sample svg that triggers this problem.Ĭould anyone tell me what is wrong here?
